Subject: Campus-Wide Housing Update for 7.19.16
Reply-To:
asuall+owners@alasu.edu

To ensure that we provide our students with ample time to seek alternative, non-ASU Provided housing options for Fall 2016, the Housing Lottery Wait List, has closed, and Housing & Residence Life is currently unable to accommodate any more students on The Wait List. All university-provided rooms and apartments have been exhausted at this time.

Although we can not guarantee campus housing spaces for the almost 300 remaining students who are on the Wait List, those students will have first preference as spaces open. Alabama State University has limited on-campus housing options, and unfortunately, our housing demand far outweighs the supply.

We welcome students to attend ASU in the fall, with the recognition that housing spaces are at a premium, are very limited, and are not guaranteed. Students currently on the Lottery Wait List who are waiting for assignments, per their Lottery Position Number, will be numerically assigned accordingly.

Students participating in University-Sponsored activities and programs (Band, Football, Cheer, etc.) who are required to arrive to campus prior to August 13th for camp/practice/drill/etc, should ensure they have a confirmed campus housing assignment, prior to arriving on campus.

The Office of Housing & Residence Life will be unable to assist students upon arrival, if the student does not already have a confirmed housing assignment. We can not provide temporary housing accommodations for camps, pre-drill, practices, etc., and we can not provide early move-in accommodations for those students. Please verify with your coach and/or program sponsor, regarding any housing needs and/or confirmation of arrangements.

Please visit our website, at www.alasu.edu/housing and scroll to the bottom of the page, for local apartment locator services which may assist you in your off campus housing search.

Also, for students interested in beginning the semester by having a hotel room as a holding place until possible spaces open, or for housing options between Summer/Fall and or during pre-drill/camps/practice/etc., you can check out the following locations:
